The Diamond (II) is the board version of the Sapphire (II). AFAIK program and speed are identical. Currently the Sapphire II is still listed at the end of the SSDF rating list (#50) with 2012 elo. But when the rating level adjustment was done (-100), some people said that older chess computers are underestimated now. Although comparing ratings from different pools is difficult anyway. IF ~2100 SSDF is realistic, I think 100...150 points (?) must be added for comparison to the USCF rating level, IOW the Diamond could be 2250 USCF. The estimation of 2420 from the manufacturer is probably optimistic. I can add that in some small tournaments I held myself, the Sapphire (the first version which was a bit slower) performed similar, or even better than the Mephisto risc, which had 2200 SSDF elo before the rating adjustment. http://meineseite.i-one.at/PermanentBrain/oldies2/oldies2d.htm http://meineseite.i-one.at/PermanentBrain/Oldies99/SCHLUSS.HTM Regards, M.Scheidl
