It seems that Shredder does clear >hashtables between moves - I know The King ( Chessmaster 8000) does. As far as I know the latest version of CM8 (TheKing 3.12d) does no longer clear hashtables between moves. I remember that John Merlino reported this some time ago when he replied to a query regarding differences in playing strenght between the various releases of TheKing.eng. Kurt
