Analyze File is the same as doing Load Game and then turning on Analysis mode (or doing it in the other order, I think). I almost removed from the menu because of that. Some people were expecting it to activate Crafty's "annotate" function, but it doesn't do that (it predates the existence of that function in Crafty). I'll see if I can reproduce it not working, but it would help if you could run winboard with the /debug option and send me a WinBoard.debug file showing you trying it and it not working.
