hi, i have made some observations in the last time while watching CSTal2.03 playing. 1.I think i have found out why the program plays weaker with black (bug in the variables. Line-activity goes into minus. IMO a variable out of range going into minus). 2.Also i think i found out that there is a bug in the null-move search (causing wrong pruning). Overall i have created a style. it only works 40/120 on fast hardware (>=1200 Mhz Athlon). Thank you. You can get the small style via email from me. if somebody has a web site, feel free to set it up. Its public-domain. Just copy the style into the datafile-directory of cstal2.03. this automatically loads it when starting. you will find out that null-moves is switched off. but playing strength (especially with black) has increased.
