Yes
You are right
I looked at bruce web site of Gerbil and find the same definition.

I thought that it means something else about order of moves when in order to
decide which move to try next you do a search to reduced depth.

What is defined as iterative deepening is exactly what is defined intuitively by
me as depth first.

First depth 1,second depth 2...

I see that I probably understand nothing from what was explained and I also do
not understand what is the meaning of depth first.

I also did not understand much from the reply to my post when I asked about the
other techniques.

I will be happy to see chess trees that demonstrate the techniques that were
discribed in the first post instead of definitions that part of them are also
based on things that I do not understand.
