I don't know the official line by Chessbase on the question of UCI. However,
Shredder 6 comes with two interfaces, CB and UCI, according to the ChessBase
website (http://www.chessbase.com/products/shredder6/shredder6-01.htm). So it
doesn't seem to be dead yet.

No, I'm afraid not. You could try searching the archives, because I seem to
recall that SMK posted it here before releasing Shredder 5. Otherwise try
sending him an e-mail.
