The copyright would then protect the copyright holder from others offering the same or mostly same collection of elements. If my guess is correct, it may be okay to diseminate a single message or even an entire thread. Someone with a thorough knowledge of copyright law would know for sure. On the other hand, maybe the legitimacy of the copyright is untested. The internet is relatively new and continually evolving, so maybe no one really knows one way or the other for sure. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth. I'm not a lawyer, so maybe I'm full of it. I have been before ;-)
