Subject: cache optimization?

aloha,

there was a post by christophe theron recently where he said he had put all
most-used functions of his program in one file, stopping once the .obj of that
file got 32K large. the idea was that then this is somehow making better use of
the cache.
does this sound like a good idea to you? and if yes, how good? does this make a
noticeable difference? i could reorganize my program a bit, my largest .obj with
most of the often-used functions is 44K, but there is also quite a lot of
initialization code in there...

cheers
