Convekta writes that their free Chess Assistant Light supports UCI (I did not
yet try it). It's not only a database, but has a playing environment too.

I would be interestd btw., if somebody has tried this with UCI engines what his
impression was, if everything worked fine etc.

P.S.: I think UCI has become popular also because of the Shredder 5 GUI. I like
it much. Maybe due to the release of Shredder 6, some people will sell their
Shredder 5? In this case I would strongly recommend it, if the price is ok. The
complete package includes also Deep Shredder (5), a patch, SOS 12/2000 London,
various Nimzos including another GUI, and some TBS discs.
