Chezzz 1.0 alpha, which is a complete rewrite of Chezzz, just beat CM8000 on appx. equal hardware on ICC! I know nothing can be proved of this (in fact, I _know_ that CM8000 is a billion times stronger than Chezzz), but it was still hilarious to see, because this version of Chezzz is not at all finished. It knows _nothing_ about king safety! And the rest of the evaluation is a joke too. And the branching factor is still high, and... When CM8000 matched me, I wrote the operator (if any), "Pick on someone your own size..." :) Here's the game: [Event "ICS Rated standard match"] [Site "chessclub.com"] [Date "2001.12.17"] [Round "-"] [White "Chezzz"] [Black "Chess8000"] [Result "*"] [WhiteElo "2248"] [BlackElo "2135"] [TimeControl "900+5"] 1. b3 e5 2. I had to do "examine Chezzz 31" and then proceed to the end of the game, and save. I don't know why the resignation and the result isn't set properly in this case. /David
