The follow 2 comments is of what I have noticed according to real computer vs computer tournaments on standard time controls. I think the strength difference between Crafty and Fritz is littler on standard timecontrols. Since Fritz is better tactical it's logical it can play better Bltiz. Crafty is better in endgames. Against various engines crafties has swindled its way trough. In openings, middlegame and tactics Fritz is better than Crafty. So the big deal with Crafty on tournaments is to not get in openingstraps and get a reasonable drawish positition against Fritz, the rest will follow since of it's perfect endgame play. The Fritz team tries to get in advantage out of the opening in an unstable positions with lot's of strategical elements. Michel
