I never claimed this is in the standard. But since the int16 goes from -2^15 to
2^15-1, and in the EPD standard, the interval of possible values goes from
-2^15+1 to 2^15-2, you can use the values outside of this interval for +/-
infinity inside the search.

You got me wrong or mixed C and EPD standard.
