I'm not a winboard expert, but I think the protocol does include commands for
analyzing epd files, or at least epd positions.  However, there are probably
many "winboard-compatible" engines that don't support this feature.

If you just want to run test suites, it's probably overkill to use Winboard.
Just take a few minutes to read the engine docs, as Andrew suggested.  You'll
also find it helpful to familiarize yourself with some basics of the DOS shell,
like output redirection, and writing simple batch files.  Then again, if you're
unwilling to read engine docs, I suspect you'll really be unhappy about learning
DOS.  ;)
