Terry let me tell know that ChessBase 8 is the worst crock of crap Ive ever had. Crashes are the norm and I have time and time again lost databases that have taken me hours to compile. You can check out in different chess sites the poor reviews the product has received. Schiller even details how he would rather work with and earlier version of chessbase rather than 8 because the quality of the product is so poor. The updates released by CBase have been inadequate. The problems presented by 8 have been documented by several users here, including myself. Mind you that I may not have the latest hardware but I do have more than is suggested by CB. 500mhz Pentium 3, 384 Ram. About Chess Assistant 6.11 I know very little. Hope it helps :-) On December 20, 2001 at 15:00:15, Terry Ripple wrote: >I hear good and not so good and was trying to get a few more opions on how well >ChessBase 8 and Chess Assistant 6.1 perform in regards to what they claim! > >Does Chessbase 8 and Chess Assistant 6.1 have any problems that i should be >aware of before my purchase? > >Does one perform any better than the other in retrieving games from it's >database? > >Does one perform better than the other in giving an analysis of a position? > >Thankyou in advance for your help, >Best regards, >Terry
