According to Alexander Kotov the GM's thinks in a similar way of the chess
programs (see his book "Think Like a Grandmaster"),  with the "Tree Analysis"
approach, where he discusses the selection of candidate moves and the thought
processes that might be used to narrow the selection to a final choice.
