I agree that I have never seen a good 3D board but that is my point, one should
exist.  My reasoning is that you are in effect looking at a 3D board when you
really play chess.  Are pieces hidden if you don’t look at the board correctly
in real life?  The answer is yes but you are able to easily look around the
board.  This is what I am saying should be added to the computer games. Again I
agree that none of the current 3D boards come close to this but based on other
3D images that I have seen they should be able to do so.  Take a look at some of
the nvidea demos for their video cards and you will see what I mean.  If they
can create a good graphics chess board then we may not have to pull out a real
chess set to play a serious game.
