There's a lot >of work going on right now with Maxima. Thanks for the tip! I played with Macsyma a little around 1978 at MIT. I didn't realize it was commercial (or wasn't it yet commercial back then?). It was like "magic" masquerading as a computer program. It seemed very much ahead of any software of its time.
