There is _no_ "learn.lrn" or "learn.bin" in crafty. I can't say that
ChessBase doesn't change the filenames, but those certainly don't appear
in crafty as distributed.

book learning goes into the book.bin file and an ascii version of what is
learned is written to book.lrn so that it can be shared with others, or
imported directly into book.bin should you ever choose to build a new book.bin
file with more openings in it.

position learning goes into position.bin and position.lrn, with the same idea.
Crafty uses only the .bin files, the stuff in .lrn is for sharing or importing
in the future if you lose position.bin.
