Wouldn't it be a great feature in Fritz if the Hash Tables were automatically set based on the time control, whether it be straight time, increments, or x amounts of moves in x amount of time, and your system hardware (processor speed and available ram) Of course the ability to alter your own hash table settings too should be available just as it is now. Who wants to keep calculating the proper hash tables from game to game, if the time controls you set change from game to game. Such as many different time controls from game to game when using the Playchess server, where automatic challenges and acceptance of games can be done? Where no changes can be made while the game is in progress. If you want to use the Centaur feature, and you wish to change time controls between games, who wants to have to calculate the proper hash tables everytime the time control is changed? I'd like to hear comments on this. If many out there would like this added feature perhaps the Fritz programmers could work on that if they receive enough emails. If not for the present Fritz programs thru a service pack, then for upcoming Fritz programs.
