Bringer 1.8, and also 1.9 again, expressly support to be used in the Fritz GUI: Users are even supplied with an WinBoard adapter file and an init file for that purpose. The Bringer docs describe how to install Bringer in Fritz. No performance issues regarding that are mentioned whatsoever, in Bringer's docs. I don't expect a programmer will do all of that preparation if his program is "weakened quite a lot" by that.
