The test from the SSDF shows:

Fritz and CT are about the same strength. If there is any difference, then it
is totally insignificant.

We know that Fritz has a multiple CPU version. Therefore, on an 8 way box, it
ought to be fast as blazes. The SSDF does not test configurations like that at
all. Hence, your tirade has no connection whatsoever to the actual systems that
will be used for the contest. Of course, it could be that Diep or Crafty [or
even Amy!] would blow its doors off on the same system, if Fritz scales poorly
(and there is some evidence of this).

Be that as it may, the sponsors are the ones that are funding this thing. They
have spoken and we have to take our lumps now. If there is a scandal, it is
that Shredder was never even given a chance to compete. You are screaming about
a tempest in a teapot. If you must scream, scream about something sensible
instead of about nonsense.

IMO-YMMV.
