Hi all:
Just in case you did not realize it, Eugene Nalimov, now living in USA,
is posting here. Nalimov is the author of Siberia, a very strong
freeware program dated 1992 or around you can get in Gambitsoft. So we
have another chess programmer with us and I am sure all of us hope he
will continue delivering his post. Nalimov told me -I suppose is not a
secret- that he does not write chess program anymore due to job
engagement, but is working in related issues conected with it. I hope he
will explain to all here what he did with me in email about his approach
about table generators. It would be great if he does, because as far as
any of us can experience, russian chess software, when exist, tends to
be very interesting and strong, although somewhat akwards in GUI
aspects... as it was the trademark of all and old soviet kind of design.
USRR is dead now, but it seem some cultural traditions continue long
after the corpse is in the grave :-)
Fernando
