I have been running many engine tournaments on my computer with various time controls and various Hash Table settings. In fact, in some of the tournaments I have different Hash Table settings for each of the programs. In most cases, not all, Fritz 7 has been coming out behind. Of course I have Permanent Brain turned off. I will say however, that Fritz 7 has been performing better on the Chessbase internet playchess server than Deep Fritz or Fritz 6 with my 350 MHz Pentium II processor. I have also found that Fritz 7's evaluations are way off, in that against Deep Fritz it may give itself + 0.65 and Deep Fritz may evaluate the position as only =0.15., and it turns out that Deep Fritz either equalizes and Draws or wins. Perhaps Fritz 7 is in DIRE NEED OF AN UPGRADE OR A SERVICE PACK. What is the general concensus out there?
