Hi Tony, by the way, under what GUI are you using Crafty 18.12 ? AFAIK it is unsure if Crafty plays as strong under CB-GUI then it plays under Winboard or a GUI with a correct winboard-implementation (like ChessAssistant, CM8000, ChessPartner). Even the cb-natives seem to show some strange behaviour under chessbase-gui. Just for testing issues it would be quite interesting if some of your testers could play with the winboard version (and maybe remi coulombs auto232-adapter) and some could play with CB-native - just keep the results for some 100 games seperate to see if there are any differences. Would be a nice and interesting experiment. I know you don't have to much time for such experiments, many new engines would want their place on the next list... but why not try it... you could also add a third possibility: the winboard crafty under chessbase gui - that might show up how much e.g. crafty gets weakend by this adapter crap... By the way: 8.5 - 8.5 is so far a quite cool result for Crafty, wow...
