In BlitzIn you can't implement chess engines for several reasons... What you
need is the winboard-protocol. When you have implemented the protocol in your
engine, it is quite easy to connect with it to ICC, FICS etc.
Also you can use your engine then in several fine GUIs, like ChessPartner,
ChessAssistant, ChessAcademy, ChessMaster 8000 (to name those GUIs which have
implemented the procol in a fine and stable way)

The protocol description could be find here:
http://www.tim-mann.org/xboard/engine-intf.html

Some nice source-examples could be find here:
http://home.earthlink.net/~tckjr/ (TSCP from Tom Kerrigan)
http://www.seanet.com/~brucemo/gerbil/gerbil.htm (Gerbil from Bruce Moreland)
http://www.ast.cam.ac.uk/~cmf/chess/beowulf.html (Beowulf from Colin Frayn /
Dann Corbit)

that might give you a good starting point.

Greets, Thomas
