I think it's both pros(+) and cons(-) for it.

We tested Gandalf 4.32f with Remi's adapter.

Century 4, Gandalf 5, Fritz 7, Shredder 6, Hiarcs 8 .........

To be honest, I don't think the interest in general in SSDF is so great for the
idea.
