I asked him if he didn't mind playing one game against my little GIZMO and he asked is that for real, WOW they have come a long way. To my surprise he told me that he participated in a Human Vs Computer little tourney back in 1983 and he was matched to play against BELLE which was rated close to an expert according to him. Anyway he was able to achieved a draw against the legendary BELLE. Suddenly I became more interested to match CT 14.7 against him and after 69 moves he told me WOW computer have come a long way since BELLE. I never dreamed that a Handheld chess computer could be as powerful a BELLE was back then. After a couple of more moves he repeated the position and CT 14.7 repeated three times and the game ended in a draw. The only thing that I forgot to do was to record the game or even save it, since I turned my Handspring Off and my wife came to pick me up to see a movie. I did noticed that he was NOT a tactical player, but a good strategical player who maneuver the pieces wonderfully across the board. The time that I see him I'll ask him to play another game, and will save it and post it the next day. > >40.Rg8 is losing the knight when 40...c5 is a mistake when Ra2 is winning the >knight > >My program finds Ra2 after 7395 nodes at depth 4 and has no problem to see >a winning score at depth 5. > >Interesting to say that the main line of my program at depth 4 when it does not >see a winning score for black is Ra2 Rg7+ Kf8 Rf7+ Kxf7 Rxa2 > >I guess that mate extensions for the right cases >may prevent this horizon effect > >Uri
