Gateway tells me they do not offer an Athlon Processor in their computers
anymore.
As far as going to retail stores such as CompUsa,Circuit City or others, I have
only seen Compaq and Hewlitt Packard with the Athlon.
I would rather buy from a store so that I can bring the computer back, if there
is a problem. If I buy on line, returning something could turn out to be quite
annoying.
I have taken computer PC comfiguration classes and could probably build one, but
I do not feel comfortable enough yet to do it on my own as yet, after spending
all that money. Before I spend lots of money and build my own, I would prefer to
buy bare bones minimum components, build it, and see if it works properly
without spending too much money. Once I do something like that, I will consider
my own power computer. In the meantime I will probably purchase from a retail
store, tell them what I want, build my own, so to speak, and let them do it.
If you know of any retail stores other than what I had mentioned, that carry
Athlons please let me know.
