Dear Chess Friend,
Excuse me for my English, but the word pawn "lever" is described in the book
of Danny Kopec:Mastering the Sicilian,Batsford,ISBN 0-7134-8482-9
"A lever is a pawn move which (1) offers a trade and (2) improves lever-playing
side's pawn structure and/or damages the opponents pawn structure" and
"Understanding the levers in a position will help you to determine where the
various pieces should go" D.Kopec p.5 of his book.
This book is very interesting!

and happy new year to you and CCC friends from Switzerland.

Pierre
