Hi! Two times I wrote my response to your previous message and two times it was lost. Will now write one short response to only one thing and if everything will work will send next response. >>>[D]3Q4/5q1k/4ppp1/2Kp1N1B/RR6/3P1r2/4nP1b/3b4 w - - > >By the way, how does your program do on the above? >Here is my current result (K7/600, 350 MB hash): 9.7 minutes > ># 4 0.04s [ 4.00] 2kN [ 4.82] 1.05 360- 0 ># 5 0.26s [ 6.50] 12kN [ 5.58] 1.20 2822- 0 ># 6 1.94s [ 7.46] 127kN [ 10.83] 1.38 23726- 0 ># 7 11.99s [ 6.18] 755kN [ 5.93] 1.75 145647- 0 ># 8 70.42s [ 5.87] 4550kN [ 6.03] 2.05 882018- 0 ># 9 579.43s [ 8.23] 39451kN [ 8.67] 2.17 6591614- 190219 > >PV: Rb7 Qxb7 Bxg6+ Kxg6 Qg8+ Kxf5 Qg4+ Ke5 Qh5+ Rf5 f4+ Bxf4 Qxe2+ Bxe2 Re4+ >dxe4 d4# This position is very useful. My time for first 8 moves. Moves Time Branching factor NPS 4 0.21 sec 249k 6.75 5 1.48 sec 164k 12.9 6 19.1 sec 169k 17.16 7 5 min 29 sec 173k 10.9 8 1 h 00 min 44 sec 179k When I tried mate in 9 and it was without any response in more that 30 min, I disconnected. It could be long. Selective said for sure that mate in 9 exist (0.32sec). It is move by white rook. When I looked into your time then I could see that on this position my program lost in both places. So, your friend did a perfect job!!! First in specilized plys and later in upper plys. In upper plys it could be only in around 4 times but rest of its speed is in specialized. I actually have in mind time that I found on my computer and without any hash. On initial 4 ply your still was 00 seconds and only on 5 ply, 0.22. 8 moves took only 3 minutes. Mine took 20 times as much. At least 5 or 6 times came from specialized plys. When I went to see counters in 3 ply (just the same ply that you indicated) I found that it have plainty of potential for speeding. Around half of all position in that ply have checking moves (black check white side) and king have many legal moves. Cheers, Leonid.
