That is exactly the advantage, the user do not have to install anything special for each particular engine in any file. Protocol II deals automatically with differences in features through the "feature" and "accept/reject" command. My question was inspired because you mention that you implement a new feature. That might be a good chance to take full advantage of protocol II. Do you use "edit" command rather than "setboard"? that is, together with the introduccion of usermove and SAN the most important changes.
