If you do not assume special preperation of the 2000 player that is based on having the exact version of Fritz then you are wrong. If you give 2400 player to play against 2000 player and force the 2400 player to start with 1.a3 2.h3 then I expect the 2400 player to win in most of the cases. If you give 2400 player to play against Fritz and tell the 2400 player to start 1.a3, 2.h3 then I expect the 2400 player to lose in most of the cases unless he did special prepration based on memorizing of a game that was tried at home against the exact version. Changing the evaluation between the games(for example deciding that the value of pawn is 1.1 instead of 1) may be enough to change the moves of Fritz and prevent the problem of memorizing games. Uri
