>To make it clear, I am an ex-moderator, but I put "moderation" in the title >because that's what we are talking about. > >Whether or not this guy *should* be gotten rid of is an interesting and very >serious question. I think so to and should not be taken lightly. > >If he had said rude things to all of us *here*, of the same magnitude as sending >someone a virus in the mail, he'd probably be gone. well that is what he has done. He took my email address from here, and tried to infect my computer with a virus that he has the power to take control over just because I said some silly comments about him. I emailed him back to say that the comments were meant as a joke and he should not take them so heavily. >I'm more concerned about this case where someone gets into an argument here, and >as a direct consequence intentionally sends someone a virus. If someone gets a >reputation for sending viruses or threats or harassing email if you argue with >them, I think that's grounds for getting rid of the account. > >bruce I just think it was poor actions by him to email as many people as he did. I am not a very good programmer. I couldn't make a chess program play decent enough if I tried, and I have. What worries me is that he took my email from this board and used it to attack me. For him to do that, I believe his account should be banned. He can always get another account though as this board allows free email addresses like hotmail. I have since switched to a hotmail account as well here. They scan the email before I can even see it. I do not have to put up with people attacking me with my own personal email.
