Hi David,

It's a good idea and a kind offer. I have access to MSVC7.0 at work and I've
built with that compiler. The problem vanishes but others arise. With MSVC7.0
my random number sequence somehow mysteriously changes making my position
signatures different and screwing up my opening book. I didn't write the random
number generator code but rather got it online (and got the permission of the
author to use it). I think its called Mersenne Twister or something. Anyway, I
am not interesting in debugging it. I may dump out the tables in the "old"
version and hard code them in place instead of generating them as a work around
to this problem.

But for now I am more interested in figuring out whats going on with this code
gen strangeness.

Scott
