Subject: Tablebase fun

I've got Chess Tiger 14.0 in the Chess Partner 5.1 interface. I decided to plug
in the 3 and 4 man tablebases from Hyatt's FTP space, just for the fun of it.

Pretty darn amazing!  I set up some "fundamental" mates -- e.g. 2 Bishops and
King against lone King; Bishop, Knight and King against lone king, etc. -- and
was surprised to see these mates solved instantly.

First time I ever saw an announced mate in 29!

I know, this is old news to folks around here, but it was pretty amazing to me.
If nothing else, the tablebases are worth the download time because of their
instructive value in the endings.
