Now that I have a big enough hard drive I want to install the Namilov tablebases from one of ChessBase CDs. I have 2 questions... 1) How much disc space is required? I seem to remember it being either 6 or 9 GB, but the TableBase directory on the Fritz disc is only 131 MB, so what happens to them once installed on the hard drive? Do they get uncompressed and written to the hard drive, or do they only exist in an uncompressed form when in cache, during the time Fritz is operating? Which is the best method? 2) ChessBase recommends changing the chssbase.ini file to a default cache size of 4096 KB for the tablebases. My computer has 512MB of RAM and a 100GB hard drive - what would be the best value for this setting on my computer? Can a value of more than 8MB be set? (Chessbase say a value between 1 and 8 MBs). Many thanks for your help Matthew
