Even if White were to forgo the mate in 2 and begin with 1.Bg6, there's a faster
mate than stated (I believe). It's the line in square brackets (but not in
parentheses) below. The mate in 11 specified is the one in parentheses which,
oddly, ends with a mate in 2 that's essentially a rotated version of the
original mate in 2 starting with 1.Bg8:
1.Bg8!
[1.Bg6 Kg8 2.Bxh7+
(2.Qd5+ Kh8 3.Qd8+ Bg8 4.Bf7 Kh7 5.Qd3+ Kh8 6.Qh3+ Bh7 7.Bg6 Kg8
8.Qe6+ Kh8 9.Qe8+ Bg8 10.Bh7! Kxh7 11.Qh5#)
2...Kf8 3.Qc5+ Kf7 4.Qd5+ Ke7 5.Bf5 Ba3 6.Qe6+ Kf8 7.Bg6 f5 8.Qf7#]
1...Kxg8 2.Qe8#
