Two things to remeber about Canada and its strong players: One, there are not that many FIDE events so it can be difficult to get FIDE ratings here, and two because of one, if you lose some points you are really screwed. Bob Kiviaho's CFC rating is 2310, which IS on par with Canada's FMs for the most part. He has played in the Canadian Closed many times as well. His GMC title comes from the Diamond Jubalee tournament back in the late 80s (early 90s?) where Canada had 4 gms created there. Basicly at 2300 he would be the underdog at anytime control IMO against any strong program. Hell to be honest, I could see any of the top programs WINNING the Canadian Closed (especially since its a swiss now) since Canada only has two GMs. JW On January 04, 2002 at 13:48:20, Sune Larsson wrote: >On January 04, 2002 at 13:16:51, robert flesher wrote: > >>HMMMM what can i say Good attack by Bob but Gandalf is too strong.
