The mate in the second position is too long and not relevant
for practical games.

I think that a correct comparison should be not in finding
easy long mates but in finding hard shorter mate

here is an example for a shorter mate

I did not give yace enough time to calculate
the number of moves to mate but
I feel sure that the mate can be seen
by chess programs after enough time and is a shorter mate.

Yace also did not use most of the tablebases.

This is the position that can happen if white miss the mate in
14 and blunders by 1.Kg3

I give an analysis of yace that is probably going to see
the mate score at depth 16

How much time do programs need to find the mate?
