I would think it would help.
What he does in the book is play a game to a position then he has a high rated
player and low rated player tell him what they see in the position, what they
would play and why,etc.
Then he tells you why they are thinking the way they are and why its wrong.
Then he tell's you what he would do in the same position and why it's better.

I found it very interesting to read how a low rated, high rated and a IM view
the same game.
