I don't think that any other DOS program comes close to Rebel 9 as far as features and usability are concerned. I don't think that calling Rebel 9 'crappy' could be justified. It's a very high quality tool for serious chess players. > in fact it has a >higher ELO than Rebel 9 but who really cares about ELO in these program >anymore they can beat International Masters regularly and even Grand >Masters. You can purchase both of these here: All facts tell me that probably M-Chess doesn't have a higher ELO (whatever you're talking about here) than Rebel (rather the opposite by some small margin might be true). Still I agree that M-Chess is a good choice for budget restricted DOS chess program customers. But then, they could get Rebel 9 Light (disk version) for the same price as M-Chess. I own both of them (MCP 7 and R9 CD version) and am quite delighted with them. Oh, well: Rebel 9 comes with tons of chess material on CD ROM, including a 100000+ master games database and opening books. >http://www.gambitsoft.com/gambit1e.htm > >Take Care, > >Sean Evans > > > >On June 14, 1998 at 13:27:30, Bernard Johnson wrote: > >>I am considering purchasing Rebel 9 and was wondering if someone >>would enlighten me about it. >>Should I buy it? >>I was impressed with Rebel 2 >> >>Thank you >>Bernie
