you mean you still dont get it? i think i have seen your name here
several times. some here do more than just play against their programs.
i keep up with all hardware and benchtests at all the pc hotrod sites.
to some, hardware is a big advantage when playing comp vs comp.
this is a hobby for some here. several here build their own. i just finished
my 2x1533 amd. now i know some of its limitations with the deep programs.
so i am planning my next single processor upgrade on one of my other
server cases. i have played with so many combinations of hardware. i think
i want to freeze my next one, with one of the barebones kyro units.
the only thing bad about doing this now is the amd die size will be smaller
soon. this means the xp cooling end that fastens to the processor will be
outdated. i think i will wait just a little longer on the amd release (maybe).
you said "worry"---we are not worried, we just have a head full of hardware
thoughts.
you said "2550"---i rate my top programs at 2700 on my 3100mhz.
you said "so what"---you can keep saying this, that is your freedom. but it wont
change the fact that some here are crazy about building pcs. it is a rush
to hit the start button for the first time. trying different combinations of
hardware with chess programs is a hobby for me. i dont see the end of this
passion anyway soon. i will have a 2000mhz amd next, running Chess Tiger 15.
this is a combination i will look forward to testing at the servers.

good luck with your 386. i have a 33mhz 386 in the lab at work on a tensile
tester. also i have a 6mhz Fidelity, and a 16 mhz Fidelity. i will post my match
games soon on the 6mhz Fidelity. i am playing a match between the 6mhz and
3100mhz. so i can appreciate small hardware too.
