True, that might be the case for that tournament you win, but there's so
many others around the country to do it too. Plus it's really easy to get a USCF
membership, you could keep changing names. Or why do it by yourself, there could
be partners in on it, today I win, tomorrow you win, split the prize money.
Why does everybody think it would only be one person doing it, if you watch
how they cheat casinos it's usually 3 to 6 man teams. Lookers, blockers,
watchers.
Now if casino cheaters are so good that they can get away with it even with
the eye's in the sky watching, how hard can it be for these people to cheat a
chess tournament. Security basically sucks, tournament directors are usually to
busy to keep an eye on the lower ranks, plus scam artists are so good they can
easily take the average joe, trust me I live in New York, I've seen them do it.
I've watched countless people lose money to three card monte, because they don't
understand that the guy who's winning is part of the act.
There's a gadget out there that you where on your leg that taps you like
morse code, it was used in poker cheating, a looker would stand far back and
watch everbody elses card from a distance and then send a message to the leg
tapper letting his partner know what everbody else had so he could bet properly.
Something like that could be used in chess, 3 man team, 1) the player, 2) the
looker signaling you and signaling 3) the PC operator somewhere in the hotel.
International notation would be the taps, 4 taps then 2 taps then 4 taps then 4
taps would translate to 1. d4.
