SWINDLE MODE Messrs. Jimmy Walker and Harald Faber have perhaps forgotten about "swindle mode". I believe this was first introduced by Bob Hyatt in Crafty. Hiarcs7.32 knows that it is a draw, but White is a pawn up and what's wrong with trying to win this? So it makes the best move under the circumstances hoping that Black will blunder. Take note that after white moves here, Hiarcs7.32 will immediately show an evaluation of draw for Black. But after black moves white will again show an evaluation of +1 and try to win. In short, Mr. Ripple, hiarcs7.32 has accessed the 5-man Tablebases, notes that it is a draw, but still tries to win it. I may be mistaken, but I think I read about this from Steve Lopez, either one of his T-Notes or a posting here. bobby ang On January 09, 2002 at 01:00:47, Terry Ripple wrote: >Chess Tiger solves this instantly showing a draw with White to move.
