for "Stiller's Monsters" ... at 262 moves, these are the longest known tablebase
forced mates. Maybe someone will post a diagram of the positions, which are KRN
vs KNN.
By the way, if you go to Ken Thompson's web site you find the surprising
message: "As of December 1, 2000, I will be leaving Bell Labs to pursue flight
instructing full time. I do not know what will happen to this site after that."
