For me the most difficult programs to play against and Beat are in this order 1. Rebel Century- the games usually last under 30 moves, i am usually tactically outplayed quickly, which is surprising since rebel is not known for it's tactical play 2. Mchess8- This program is a tactical monster, I consider myself a tactical player and often try to mix it up tactically with the computer, ofcourse this is suicide, especially against Mchess formerly known as the Kasparov of Computer chess. 3. Hiarcs7.32- I also get beat very quickly against hiarcs, it seems I can never even remotely get an attack, and if I do hiarcs is always one tempo ahead of me. It's defensive capabilities is easily around 2650. Ironically the Well known tactical Programs like Fritz , Chessmaster, and Junior I am usually able to go an extended distance, often to the late endgame, this i don't understand, ofcourse I lose everytime so I guess the amount of moves doesn't really matter
