When you add the hard command you courupting the way Fritz handle the pondering (with the pv-line) so it would be confused about what to send the engine. Best play would be to let CB handle it the way they do and expect a little redused strength from the engine. When it comes to The King I now that it clear the hash on every move so it would maybe also reduse the strength a little when it not ponder by itself. Maybe booklearnig and a Kure book would compensate for this as proposed by T. Schoop. Other engine may clear hash on the 'new game' command so they are also forced to clear hash between moves in the CB GUI and as a result be a little weaker. Odd Gunnar
