hi pavel. not a stupid question at all. i may be wrong but in order to get a
rough comparison, here is the formula:

1) add about 20% extra time for the processor speed difference(40 in 2'12'')

2) considering that about 50% of the moves are common (more with some, less with
others, add another 50% to the above calculation (40 in 3'18'')

you will however never get the same depth and quality of moves with ponder off
because i have seen programmes think for as long as 35 minutes sometimes whereas
with ponder off the time taken for each move will be roughly the same.

i can guarantee that you will soon get fed up of playing with such long time
controls
