They don't cost a lot of depth when restricted like Bob does. - only recaps to same square - the cap-recap sequence must have same material gain - no more than 1 extension in a row When I extend this a full ply it only costs 0.2 ply or so. BTW I have taken recap extensions out now, to see what this does. So far it has played a couple of nice games and I see no worsening. Bas.
