[D]8/5pk1/2p5/p1p5/P1PpKPPp/1P5P/8/8 b - - 0 1 This is a position I from a skittles game that I had had as Black, with Black to move. 1...f5!! is the winning move. After analysing this position after the game, I wanted to see just how far away the Black King can be from the action and still win. I placed the Black King on b6 and found that again, 1...f5 is the winning move. The position is deceiving. I put this position is Fritz and it finds 1...f5 pretty fast, but not instantly. Deep Fritz and Fritz 6 seem to find it faster than Fritz 7a. I would like to know just how fast the Athlon 2000+ or the Pentium 4 2.2 gig takes with Fritz 7, to find the winning move.
